Happy Thanksgiving

The staff at the Statesman Examiner would like to wish you a Happy Thanksgiving.

Thanksgiving week is a full of fun, family friendly activities in the City of Colville.

The day after Thanksgiving, also known as Black Friday, you will find sales going on at many of the locally owned businesses in town.

The night of November 25th will bring us “Home for the Holidays/

Tree Lighting Ceremony”. Join your family, friends, and neighbors for the lighting of the Colville Christmas tree. This year’s tree was donated by the Trudell’s and the decorations on it were painted by local school children. Santa Clause will come down Main street at 6pm to light the tree! Don’t forget to have your picture taken with Santa from 6: 30pm to 7: 30 pm at Home Suite Home, after the lighting ceremony. The fun doesn’t stop on the 25th though, as the 26th brings “Shop Small Colville/ Small Business Saturday”. Come downtown and support local businesses while checking off names from your Holiday shopping list. Stop by the Colville Together booth at Heritage Court where there will be; art, crafts, luLaRoe, and present wrapping While at Heritage Court, pick up your “Passport” and visit all 9 businesses on it to receive a stamp: when your passport is full, return it to Heritage Court to be entered to win the Grand Prize.. Also, don’t forget to stop by North 40 between the hours of 11am and 3pm for treats and to see Santa’s reindeer LIVE! Santa may even make an appearance at the North 40 event. The weekend following Thanksgiving would also be a great time to stop by Saundra’s Furniture and purchase your Christmaas Tree Extravaganza raffel tickets for $ 1 each. Last year the event raised over $ 19,000 for the Colville Chamber of Commerce. There are 8 trees this year and the sponsors include; Colville Chamber of Commerce, Colville Liquor & Wine, Fogle Pump & Supply, Northeast Wasington Association of Realtors, State Farm/ Joe Christiansen, North 40 Outfitters, the Downtown Merchants, and Northside Heating & AC/ Hastings All American Construction. The raffle will be held live on Facebook December 16th at 3pm. Don’t forget about the Tree of Sharing too; tags are available at several area businesses. Thanksgiving, while meaning “to give thanks and express gratitude”, is a holiday of food, family, friends, and of course shopping! Come to downtown Colville over the weekend and enjoy supporting our local business while spending time with your family!
