Kettle Falls Softball ended their regular season 6- 10, sending them to Districts on Tuesday May 17th. They will play Asotin their first game, winner playing at 4pm and loser playing at 2pm. Districts for Kettle Falls are held at Liberty this year. Finals will be played on Saturday May 21st at Franklin Park in Spokane. The Bulldogs ended their season with a sweep over Davenport. Strong pitching, and great defense held Davenport to 4 runs while Kettle Falls scored 30 between both games. The senior leaders have been strong all year. Catcher Mya McInelly leads the team at the plate again this year, also leading last year and receiving All League. McInelly jumped into the catching role as an 8th grader being brought up to play HS JV. She was the first starting catcher for KF her freshman year on Varsity and has been outstanding throughout her catching careeer. Senior

Malia Langrehr, Kettle Falls Center Fielder, is probably the best outfielder in the league. She has great speed and will catch anything hit her way. Linsey Hippler moved from left field to 3rd base and has been solid. She leads the team in home runs. Hippler always has a smile for everyone and just loves softball, always making friends with whoever stops at 3rd base. Our last senior, Callie Hughes, stepped up to pitch with only a couple games experience. Callie has powered through some tough games this year. The bulldogs played a tune up game with Northport last Thursday. The bulldogs split on that day. Some great pitching by Callie Hughes and Sydnee Corvino held the Mustangs in check in the first game. Freshman Annaka Edwards, Kettle Falls short stop, lead the hitting with a 3- 4 performance. Coach Fox said “the second game was all about getting some players in the game who may not get a chance to play at Districts. This is the second year in a row we have had no KF JV coach, so we have one big team. We have 3 sets of sisters and I have been waiting all year for the right time to get them all on the field at the same time and I was able to do it. We had to juggle plays around a bit to make it work out.” Freshman pitcher Marissa Burch took the mound in the second and did a great job. Up next is district playoffs! Kettle Falls Lady bulldog will face 3rd place Asotin on Tuesday at Liberty.
