Prolific Felon Pleads Guilty, Sentenced to 84 Months

Robert James Rogers age 41 of Colville, pleaded guilty to four felonies in Stevens County Superior Court on November 15 and was sentenced to a total of 84 months in prison by Superior Court Judge Lech Radzimski.

On January 27, 2020, Rogers was charged with an information of seven counts; Possession of a Stolen Motor Vehicle x 3, Trafficking in Stolen Property in the First Degree x 2, Theft of Rental, Leased, Lease-Purchased or Loaned Property in the Second Degree, and Possessing Stolen Property in the Second Degree.

This case involved the theft of a Ford F100 belonging to Brian Phillips of Omak, a 2019 Dodge Charger belonging to Enterprise Rentals of Spokane, a 1956 Ford step side pickup, a 2002 Suzuki Enduro motorcycle, a U-Haul tow dolly, and the sale of a stolen Husqvarna chainsaw. A lengthy investigation by the Washington State Patrol, involving the Colville Tribal Police, Colville Police Department, and Stevens County Sheriff ’s Office, centered on Rogers, and found ample evidence to charge Rogers in this case.

Rogers is currently in the Stevens County Jail while appealing an 84-month sentence handed down in April of 2021 for trafficking in stolen property and could have been facing another long sentence on top of his current one if this case had gone to trial. Instead, Rogers accepted a plea deal negotiated between his attorney Jay Ames and Deputy Prosecutor Erika George. By pleading guilty to two counts of Possession of a Stolen Vehicle ( 57 months), Trafficking in Stolen Property in the First Degree ( 84 months) and Possessing Stolen Property in the Second Degree ( 29 months), Rogers avoided trial and accepted another 84-month sentence to be served along with the 84 months he was already serving in one of this prior cases.

Rogers guilty pleas bring him to 22 felony convictions in the State of Washington, all in Stevens County, ranging from Felony Protection Order Violations, to Forgery, Identity Theft, Theft, Possession of Stolen Motor Vehicles, and Trafficking in Stolen Property. Rogers also has felony level convictions in Montana and California.
